Heath & Wiltshire and Club 24 take on a whopper of a challenge for local Mind Charity

With the events over the past couple of years and knowing how much an impact depression has on lives, Heath & Wiltshire decided to team up with Club 24 Fitness for a fundraising challenge. With our two companies joining forces, we set out to try and make a difference by raising money for Wiltshire Mind – a local, independent charity supporting people in Wiltshire who are experiencing mental health problems or emotional distress.

Heath & Wiltshire has been supporting the charity, Mind for many years now and this time we thought we would support the local Mind charity, as so many local people were going to take part in this challenge.

So, at 6am sharp, we hit the pedals! Throughout the day various gym members joined us while simultaneously one staff member would stay on the bike – ensuring we were constantly spinning for 24 hours straight.

H&W Team Spinathon

Our determined staff earned a huge high 5 with what they accomplished. Emma Hicks, Tom Marriott and Holly Creswell Jeal were the ring leaders who went above and beyond for this challenge. Emma managed an astonishing 16 hours, Tom 8 hours and Holly covered 6 hours! But well done to everyone who took part and put the time in when they could – no matter how many hours they covered.

Heath and Wiltshire could not have done it without the outstanding support from Club 24 Fitness, they took on the challenge and got involved by promoting throughout the gym and making sure they got members involvement in the challenge. Martin Johnson and Jason Wilcox took the 7-hour evening shift and kept everyone’s morale up with their amazing energy.

We were hoping to raise £1500, but have exceeded this target and the final total is £1963.81! Thank you to everyone who got involved and supported us throughout this challenge!

The CEO of Wiltshire Mind, Paul Mills said:

“A huge thank you to Heath & Wiltshire and Club 24 Fitness in Westbury for the fantastic job they did on the 24-hour spin-a-thon last week. This event truly illustrated the link between doing physical activity and improving mental health.

A tremendous effort by the staff, members and local community made the event such a success, despite the weather. The incredible amount raised will help Wiltshire Mind to continue to deliver mental health support in Wiltshire. Community support like this makes a huge difference to those in need of our services.

I extend my sincere thanks to all involved.”
